Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we went to American Fork Canyon, hiked a little and had a picnic lunch. The water was very high and running fast! I love being so close to the mountains. It's so beautiful up there. We went to Stephanie & Nathan's house after lunch and John helped them with their yard while Lizzy played with her cousins. Then we all went back to the Canyon. We walk around by the lake, went for a little drive, and then found a spot to cook hot dogs and smores! It was a fun day.

The rest of the week has been exciting as we get closer to both signing the lease agreement for John & Eric's office space and getting the money for the x-ray machine! Here is a picture of the building:

Tina's 30th Birthday!

The past few days have been so much fun! On Thursday John and I went dinner and a movie with his sister Stephanie and her husband Nathan. Lizzy stayed at their house with a babysitter (and she didn't cry once!) It was nice to get out. We went to the Thai Village and saw "Angels & Demons".

On Friday (my birthday) John made breakfast and then did some grocery shopping. When he came home he had a beautiful bouquet of a dozen red roses, a bag of gifts, and a wonderful card! I was so surprised! Late afternoon John got an email with the lease agreement for the office space! We were so excited... so we spent time going over the 16 pages! We went to dinner at Johny Carino's that night. My sister Becca and her family were coming in that night, so we cleaned up a little, and our friends Eric & Tagen stopped by for a surprise visit. They brought Lizzy & I birthday gifts! It was so thoughtful. Lizzy got some great books and I got a plaque that says "HOME" in big letters and smaller it says - 'Home Is Where Your Story Begins' I love it! Becca's family arrived about 12:45am and we stayed up for about two hours talking. Lizzy woke up when they came. She was up until 2:30am, because she was so excited to see them!
On Saturday we all slept in until 9:30 or so... We went to brunch at Mimi's Cafe.

Then we went to Old Navy & Wal-Mart. We went home to marinade the steak, and the girls played at the playground for a while.

There was a message saying I had flowers at the office! I was surprised - who would be sending me flowers... when I opened the card it was from my dentist. It was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Later we drove by John's office space and the Draper Temple, and the kids all fell asleep! Eric called and told us Tagens mom was going to Africa, and they asked if we could get some flip flops and Old Navy for the kids in Africa... they came over for a while, gave us some money to get the flip flops. When the kids got up we headed to Old Navy and cleaned out the rest of the kids flip-flops, it was fun... 5 for each person... for a total of 35, love the $1 sale! For dinner we had New York Steaks, garlic roasted red potatoes and veggies! John made a Chocolate cake, and we had ice cream. Then we watched Mall Cop!

Colby really wanted some cake!

Today I got up early when Lizzy started crying, about 6:30 am. I finished going over our lesson for our Sunbeam Class, and decided this is a good time to write this all down... sorry there is so much more detail than usually, but it's my big b-day and it was AWESOME! John make blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Then we got ready for church and took some more pictures. Becca and her family left after after Sacrament meeting. Night Tagen & Eric are coming for dinner (pot roast)! It has been such an awesome weekend! Thank you to all who made it such a great 30th birthday!

Foot Injury

Lizzy hurt her foot last night. We don't think it's that bad, but she will not walk on it. I'm amazed at how happy she has been with a hurt foot. When she woke up from her nap she came out crawling. She started walk around on her knees, because she wants to get around. Tonight during American Idol she started jumping around on her knees, and during the commercials she would say “more”. She loves watching them sing. Here are some pictures and a video.

I love taking pictures of Lizzy sleeping, she looks so cute… so I had to include this picture:

Happy 2nd Birthday Elizabeth!

Elizabeth turned 2 on May 2nd. John's parents came up for that and for a surprise birthday party for Grandma (Steve's mom). It was nice to have them visit with them for a couple days. We went to Stephanie's and had Pizza for dinner, then opened presents and had an ice cream cake (raspberry cheesecake, it was delicious). Then we cleaned up and a bunch of people come over for Grandma's party. It was a lot of fun.

Lizzy got her first Cabbage Patch baby doll from Stephanie's family.

Grandma was so surprised, it was great to see her so happy and excited.

Hair Cut

We finally got Elizabeth's hair cut. Here are some pictures.

Before

She got to sit in a pink car and watch Baby Einstein

They put a little pony tail on the side and tucked it under so it will stay down. I'll have to try that one in the future, she's kept it in all day so far, and she likes to point to it and say "hair cut."

She got a sucker and a balloon!

Busy week

This past week we decided to use our connect pass that we got from Easter. We started out at the Aquarium and then went to the Hogle Zoo. Lizzy loved the fish & the animals. She kept saying "more monkeys" & "more animals."

If you look close, their tails are wrapped around each others, so cute!

We forgot the cooler packed with our lunch, so we stopped by L&L Hawaiian BBQ for lunch on our way to the Gateway Mall. We went to Gateway Discover Children's Museum and the Clark Planetarium. We got to watch an IMAX 3D Under Water movie(45 minutes), it was pretty cool, and Lizzy left the glasses on most of the time! We spend some time walking around the mall and John ran into some friends from Tracy that live in Draper now, what a small world.

It was free ice cream day at Ben & Jerry's, so we had to stop for a treat. Lizzy made such a mess on her shirt, we decided to go back to the Gymboree store and get the shirt that we almost bought earlier. We then took TRAX to Temple Square and had dinner at the Lion House. The rolls there are so good and I really liked their corn chowder. We headed back to Gateway on TRAX, and then headed home. It was a long day and I got a little sun burn on the back of my neck, but we had fun.

On Wednesday I was able to go to our Ward Enrichment. It was great, and I got to meet a lot of people.

On Friday we went to services for baby Paul. Lizzy let us put her hair up for a few minutes... the only time she's kept them in is when we play on the swings and slides. Oh well, someday we'll get her hair cut & it will look cute down (I hope this week). We got a mattress and bedding for Lizzy last night, and she loves it! She was so excited when we set it all up, she was jumping (both feet off the ground).

It seems that everything she says and does is so cute this week. She's been talking a lot more, and saying more sentences. She also repeated a prayer for the first time this week! She's saying a lot of names, and loves to look at the pictures of everyone on the computer.

She's been saying some funny things when she first wakes up:
1. "Sushi" with a huge grin on her face - and she's been saying this a lot during the day, especially when we ask what she wants, or where she wants to go - makes daddy happy :)
2. "chop, chop, Eric" (Eric, John's business partner, taught her that one, hand motions and all).
My little girl is growing up so fast! I could go on and on about all the things she's doing! She'll be two this Saturday, so I've been trying to make a list!
These next couple weeks are going to be busy as well. Family is coming into town this weekend for birthdays, and my cousins are coming the following Monday - Wednesday. Kristy is going into the MTC on May 6th!

On Easter Sunday we went to John's grandma house. We had lots of fun with family. Here are some pictures:
